• We’ll examine the tooth, socket, and surrounding tissues to determine the extent of the injury.

• X-rays may be taken to check for bone fractures or root damage.

2. Cleaning & Preparation

• If the tooth is dirty, we’ll gently rinse it with a sterile solution (avoiding scrubbing to protect delicate tissues).

• The tooth socket will also be cleaned to remove debris or clots.

3. Tooth Reimplantation (If Possible)

• For recently avulsed teeth, we carefully reposition the tooth back into its socket.

• A flexible splint may be bonded to adjacent teeth to stabilize it for 1-2 weeks while healing begins.

4. Root Canal Treatment (If Needed)

• If the tooth’s nerve was damaged, a root canal may be required later to prevent infection.

• In some cases, we perform this during the emergency visit.

5. Preserving the Tooth’s Long-Term Health

• Antibiotics or anti-inflammatory medication may be prescribed to reduce the risk of infection.

• We’ll schedule follow-up visits to monitor healing and support the tooth’s recovery.

• If the tooth can’t be saved, we’ll discuss replacement options, such as:
